Pastel Wedding Inspiration at Dodford Manor

July 17, 2023 Katy Chester
Barn wedding breakfast set up with floral hoops and spring flowers

As a wedding stationer, I get to work with couples all over the country (and the world), creating their dream wedding paper. Because my couples often live far and wide, it’s rare that I get to work with my industry friends on a real wedding.

When April and Mark booked me for their day at Dodford Manor, I was really delighted to discover that I knew some of the other suppliers on board.

Dodford Manor is an exclusive Grade II listed barn venue in the midst of the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. A truly perfect location for an English countryside wedding.

April & Mark were initially due to get married in the autumn of 2020 but covid sadly struck and left them having to postpone until spring 2022. They fully embraced the season change with a glorious colour palette with pastel shades of peach, blush and cream. There was an abundance of beautiful spring florals designed by Lizzy from The Flower Story, featuring ranunculus (my favourite), roses and sweet peas to name a few.

The stationery was heavily inspired by spring, with pastel watercolour florals featuring on all of the designs paired with my signature calligraphy style. The menus were adorned with wax seals and handwritten calligraphy place cards to add that extra special touch. The order of the day sign was customised with simple illustrations, so guests could easily see the schedule and most importantly, know when the food is being served!

Everything was perfectly styled and curated by the talented Gemma at The White Emporium who pulled together the stationery and florals in a cohesive way.

The day was captured by the wonderful Nikki Watkins Photo & Film, known for her modern, light and airy photography style. She’s a dream to work with and always delivers the most stunning photos, whether it be candid shots, posed couple’s portraits or all of those little details that make up the day.

Here’s a little look at some of those stationery, styling and floral details. Perfect inspiration for anyone having a beautiful barn wedding in spring or summer.
