Bridgerton fever has well and truly hit the nation, so naturally that means we’re celebrating all things pastel and floral (although in the wedding industry, when are we not celebrating those things?). With that in mind, I couldn’t resist sharing this beautiful lilac and peach pastel-filled shoot that I worked on with one of my favourite teams a while back.
While this shoot was never intended to be inspired by the hit TV show, there’s no denying that the regal feel and pastel colour palette tie in nicely to the theme and could be great inspiration for anyone looking for a more modern twist on a regency-inspired spring wedding.
The shoot was dreamed up by Natalie Stevenson Photography and Queen & Eden who worked together to bring their vision to life with three elegant bridal looks and details to die for, all captured perfectly in Natalie’s signature light and ethereal style - I think even Lady Whistledown would approve!
THE FLOWERS
The talented Sara from Queen & Eden created the most show-stopping floral pieces for this shoot, including pillars, a floating centrepiece and even a floral umbrella.
The florals featured clouds of lilac and white gypsophila, hints of hydrangeas and lots of roses, with pops of peach, cream and some brighter apricot too.
While the design was very intricate and elegant, the stray branches and varying textures gave it modern and slightly wild feel.
The bridal bouquet featured mainly roses in shades of lilac, peach and cream, with pops of apricot from a ranunculus or two and was the perfect balance of elegant and modern.
THE TABLESCAPE
The table was dressed with lilac linens, peach candles and brass cutlery, with beautiful white decorative plates from Wren Ark.
The centrepieces were bursting with flowers, flowing all the way down the table and the modern cloud design hanging above really added a wow factor too.
We decided to go for quite a minimal design for the menus and place cards but played into the colour scheme with pastel peach and lilac elements. To add a bit of contrast, the place cards were a burnt orange colour with gold calligraphy, which were complemented by orange silk ribbon for an additional pop of colour. Nina from Erzulie Cakes provided the final flourish for the place settings - some extremely delectable lilac macarons.
THE CAKE
The luxury patisserie queen, Nina from Erzulie Cakes created the most beautiful four tiered cake for this shoot. Not only did it feature hand painted watercolour-style florals but she even created some delicate sugar flowers to add some texture and an extra special finishing touch.
THE INVITATION SUITE
For the invitations, I wanted to include some of the gypsophila detail and so incorporated it into an intricate hand drawn wreath design. The design also featured romantic calligraphy, which was carried over onto the RSVP and details card too.
The pastel lilac design was complemented by a pale peach envelope with gold calligraphy addressing, a vellum wrap and a lilac chiffon ribbon tied in a bow.
THE BRIDE & GROOM
The team created three romantic bridal looks for this shoot, with stunning dresses from Morgan Davies Bridal and accessories by Rachel Sokhal Bridal to add the perfect finishing touch.
The flawless hair and makeup looks were created by the talented Belle’s Beauty. The looks progressed from classically regal, to elegant and glam, then to romantic and ethereal.
The groom wore a muted lilac three-piece suit with a white shirt and a pretty floral buttonhole.
